The city of Socorro is home to the new PMG Socorro Medical Office Building, constructed to provide support for the existing PHS Socorro Hospital Campus and meet the growing needs of the city and surrounding population. The 23,000 sf medical facility boasts 3 clinical pods, 39 examination rooms, 6 procedure rooms, 13 doctors’ offices and a new helicopter pad. As patrons enter the facility, they are welcomed by a stunning waiting/reception area with a custom radiused faux cherry wood reception desk, crafted by Enterprise Builders’ in-house Architectural Woodwork Shop. The EB Architectural Woodwork Shop also provided wood accents and cabinets which decorate the building. The entry area is accented by a dramatic 10’ ceiling, large skylights, curved walls and accent colors. A swirling floor design continues through the front part of the building directing patients to the clinic pod entrances. Clinical pods contain a minimum of 12 exam rooms, 2 procedure rooms and 4 doctors’ offices, centered around large naturally lighted nurses’ Stations. The exterior of the building utilizes Presbyterian’s signature materials-metal panels, stone veneer and steel/stone entrance canopy. The aesthetic and practical design of the building gives the area an adequate amount of space to expand medical services with state-of-the art equipment and an environment that appeals to patients. PMG Socorro Medical Office has the capacity to welcome more doctors and patients to the rural south as well as the potential to hire more local folks.
